New rear wheel cylinders, turn the drums, bleed brakes & hood…

Let’s replace the rear wheel cylinders…

Interesting to note the shoes are not making consistent contact w/the drums

Wheel cylinder caps - yikes!

Good call to replace them.

First, however, let’s get the drums turned as well

Got the drums turned @ L&O

Like brand new!

And now the shoes are making consistent contact on the entire surface of the drum

Cleaning up all the brake components (springs, adjusters, etc.)

New wheel cylinder installed and re-assembling rear brake components

Re-bleeding the brakes

Test drive time!

Post test-drive clutch pedal adjustment

Reinstalling the hood and hood support

Finalizing details…

Spare tire back in the tire tub

Re-bled front brakes one more time

Test drive up ‘n down driveway

Stops straight as an arrow! Dodging raindrops.

Removed wiper grilles

Installed new spray nozzles

Adjusted spray direction

Reinstalled wiper arms and checked rear drums

Ran a separate ground wire to debug Fuel gauge issue

Made slight adjustment to front coilovers

4 wheel digital alignment & suspension adjustments…

Loaded up at the Shop…

Brought it to Joe at Custom Alignment

 

All set and headed back to the shop

Muffler shop visit for exhaust system install…

We had a flatbed bring the ‘63 from the shop to Kwik-Way Muffler

And then we AAA’d it back to the shop. All set!
