Rear carrier & rear suspension removal

Started off by dropping the rear leaf spring


Removing leaf from carrier



Unbolting driveshaft u-bolts from rear carrier

Notice front tongue is mounted to carrier via 2 long bolts w/nuts. Original 63 rear carriers had only 1 long bolt (at rear), with front being 2 short bolts threaded from each side.

First big challenge - we unbolted the rear cross-member, but the driver side sombrero would not break free.

Passenger side broke free

Driver side required a lot of Liquid Wrench and some persuation

Finally free

New rear wheel cylinders, turn the drums, bleed brakes & hood…
